Yes. though an Economics principal- Value of a thing is known in its absence is also applicable to heart also. Continuously being together leads to be taken for granted attitude .It is only during the separation that heart pines for partner.

without a doubt. i am seeing someone who lived 4/5 hours away and he would come and visit every couple of weeks but it got to hard and we fell head over heals for each other and he has moved to be with me it great. the distance stops all the game playing and you realise how you really feel about the person.

Idioms can be used either way. Just like, "out of sight, out of mind". It depends what kind of person you are. I personally miss someone I love and can't wait to see them if I haven't in a while.

For me and my crush it did. He went on a vacation for a week with his family and before he did he totally ingored me in the 'like like' section. When he came back he was showing off for me and a bunch of other stuff to try and say that he likes me. So for us, yeah.
