well of course a midwife could be a man. the name midwife refers to the patient not the midwife. it means "with woman" I think that we are under the impression that a midwife can only be a woman due to the fact that back in the day midwives were only women bacause a man was not to be permitted at the birth of a child it was improper.

Not such a strange question.A man can be a nurse and a midwife is an RN trained in Midwifery at a Midwifery School.Very possible!!!!!

A man could be a midwife... but I suspect few would hire him. How many men would hire another man to stare at and put his hands near, his wife's crotch? lol
