As long as it is clearly made out to someone, and NOT left blank, then yes. Fill the box in, in full, eg. £20.00------------ rather than leave spaces for someone to add more digits, and make sure there isnt any extra space for someone to add words either.

If the cheque doesn't get where you want it to go, then you can always cancel the cheque. I think it is safe because if something does go wrong then it will take over a week to clear a cheque anyway. Giving you time to make arrangements for it to stop.

Yes!! Because even if it is intercepted they will not be able to cash it since the cheque will not have been paid out to them!! It is not safe to post blank cheques though because someone could easily write out the cheque to themselves!!

Most of the time but contact the receiver and ensure that it has been received. The safety is in the fact that that the check should only be paid to the receiver. If the check is paid in not by your receiver then the bank is liable - contact them.

erm i wouldnt think it would be becuase people can track down everything these days
my advise dont tell anyone that your not sure you trust that your sending anything like money or important goods
