My period is now 4 days late. I usualy have an irregular period but when i take a HPT on those months in which i am late the test always comes out negitive. About three months ago i had bought a value pack of HPT'S the box came with 3 sticks. Since I used one and it came out neg. I just put the others away. Now I had pulled one of the saved HPT's out this morning to see if I am PG, and the test came out Positive. But i was wondering If it could be a false because of how long I just had it stored away??? Also because I have been very careful when engaging in any sexual contact with my BF. We always use a condom. I just don't think I'm PG and i wanted to know if anyone thinks that the test is wrong or could i be PG??? Thank You P.S: my Breast are sore, But i usually get that around my period also. I'm tiered but I just came over the flu.

It is rare to have a false positive, so if you are sure it read positive then you are most likely pregnant. You should go to your doctor and have a blood test done.

Congrats. I think you are pregnant. Home pregnancy tests
have a lot of false negatives, but rarely a false positive.
The only things that can cause a false positive are
fertility drugs. The ones women take to get pregnant.
Pregnancy tests usually do not go bad that quickly, either.
They have a shelf life of several years. If they go bad, they don't give any result. No lines, no nothing. It's just blank.
Condoms don't always work. They can have small cracks or
holes you can't see due to age. (Condoms do have an expiration date.) Also, the cheaper brands are more prone to this.
Also, sometimes preegaculate can get on the outside of a condom. (That contains sperm.)
I thought I had the flu, each time I was pregnant. (I had all the symptoms.) Turns out flu like symptoms are a big indicator
of early pregnancy.
Go see your OB/GYN ASAP.

Chances of a false positive are really slim. You only bought the tests 3 months ago, so they should still be accurate (check to see it has an expiration date on it, as most tests will have one). The test detects the hCG pregnancy hormone in your urine, so it sounds like are pregnant. You can still get pregnant using a condom.

I would go out and buy a new test, wait a few days and re-take the test...or have your doctor test you, just to be sure.

You very well may be pregnant. Check the box to see if the test has expired. Then I would go buy a good pregnancy test and see if that comes out positive. If it does, make an appointment to have it confirmed by your doctor.

False positives are rare but they can happen. I would say you are probably pregnant. Call the doctor and ask for a blood test. That will tell you for sure. Good luck

That might not have been the flu to begin with, it may be pregnancy symptoms.

Sounds like you're pregnant. You need to invest in a quality HPT. If not, go to your doctor and make sure.

Good Luck!
