the notions of casualties of war goes beyond the losing troops on both sides...it is the inevitable result of war to have collateral damage

Sometimes that is the cost of war, you must not dwell on it, it sometimes just happens. Look back at 9/11...The Muslim Extremist are at war with the infidel. (one who is not a Christian or who opposes Christianity, an unbeliever with respect to a particular religion, one who acknowledges no religious belief, a disbeliever in something specified or understood). How many people died in the World Trade Center......a total of 2,726 death certificates related to the WTC attacks had been filed. Wouldn't you consider these extremists killed "civilians, or friendlies"? I would.

This seems more of a political statement than a question. But regardless...

The U.S. military sometimes kills civilians. It's a very sad aspect of war and one which causes us to reconsider whether war can ever be a morally correct war (since there are always civilian deaths in every war).

Here's an example: In World War II, the American and British forces conducted massive fire-bombing of the German city of Dresden. Dresden was a very large city with a large civilian population and practically no real "military" value was achieved in destroying it. But, it did cause one thing to happen. Upon hearing of the thousands of women and children that were burned to death, members of the Germany military became very demoralized. This extremely low moral in the German army contributed to a more rapid end to the war (thus saving american lives).

So, the U.S. military is using the same tactic in Iraq. By killing as many civilians as possible they are causing the Iraq insurgents to become very depressed and demoralized.

This is also why the U.S. military is conducting massive amounts of rapes and assaults of Iraqi girls.

To preface my answer, let me say that I am ex-military, as well as most of my family, plus I have friends in the French Foreign Legion and in Britain.
Now, troops kill "civilians" ( I assume that U mean Iraq, Afghan...) because THEY ARE ALL CIVILIANS. We are NOT fighting troops in uniforms. Kids plant bombs, mothers plant bombs, etc. DO YOU GET IT ?
It's almost like 'Nam (Vietnam ) all over again, except there the NVA (regular troops) were real troops. In Iraq we are fighting cowards that hide behind kids and women , will NOT wear uniforms, and prefer to blow up their own people as well as Westerners. They are sick , worthless, spineless COWARDS.
Beware the elite/ Liberal Press. We have a First Amendment because we "kicked ***." You want Freedom anywhere in this world YOU had better be willing to take on the bad guys that want to "Control YOU, and others."
War sucks. Our defense Industries here (and overseas ) are making tons of MONEY off people dying.
My personal belief is that most modern wars are designed by governments with the help of Big corporations, because WAR "is Big Business." Defense Industries make NO money without war. Hell, we and Europe sold Saddam all of his war machinery, guns, tanks, bullets, planes, and when he "went to USE them (how dare he ) we all beat up on him.
The best thing you can learn, when young (older too) is to find the TRUTH, "follow the Money trail." !!!

Sadly this is just a part of warfare. throughout history civilian populations have always suffered in times of war. Likewise deaths by friendly fire are nothing new. There have been times when entire companies have battled each other before realizing they were on the same side. This isn't a new thing and it certainly isn't a US thing.

Obviously it is easier as ground war to capture insurgents may not be successful. In Indian administered Kashmir security forces sometimes are killing themselves or their colleagues.
It indicates that security forces are under great mental stress. They protect the people at the cost of their lives under a highly hostile condition. God help us.

Always? I don't think it happens all the time. Accidents happen. People are accidently shot in their homes. To say "always" is inaccurate and pretty disrespectful. If you think you can do better, join the military yourself instead of critizing the people who choose to defend our country with your generalizations.

In every war in history some civilians get killed this one is no different.

If there are accidental deaths when people are NOT at war, why would you expect that there would be none during a war? Don't be ridiculous...

Killing all the innocent mommies, daddies, and babies and not one damned terrorist, shocking!
