Well I have told close family and annonymously on the internet that I've had nobility in my family history, and castles in my families' surnames (old ones) but I always point out all my nationalities and that it's not really a royal connection. And personally I'm still trying to find out if the information given to me from some of my family members are true.

If you know people who are doing their own geneology, they always like to know things like that. I am related to Queen Isabella of Spain and I found that out AFTER I named my daughter Isabella. I think that's awesome. History, especially of that nature should be known and retold.

For now,, keep it to yourself. Do some research to see if you are in the will, and search for your name somewhere to get some cash, once you get the cash, then brag.

No, I would not stand on a corner and tell the whole world about it. I might tell those who I can trust.
I am a distant relative of Marie Antoinette.

Just bring it up if someone would like to talk about ancestors...then just come out and say "I am related to..." A lot of people are interested in that kind of stuff...I just would not flaunt it.
