My daughters jacket no longer zips. All of the teeth are there, but it just wont zip- it catches and the unzips itself. She has a normal coat- cotton, nothing fancy. I am not the greatest sewer so any ideas would help!

I take mine to the cleaners they charged me $8.00 just to fix my son's coat. Unless you know how to sew then your good because you can go to a fabric store with the jacket to find the correct zipper and teeth stripe that matches the jacket.

most of the time the slider is at fault. You can buy sliders at fabric stores.

It sounds, though as if the slider has spread, so that it comes loose from the teeth. Look at the slot on a zipper of the same size, and see if this is the case. If so, you can gently squeeze it with a pair of pliers. If you go too far, you can spread it again with a small screwdriver.

Most dry cleaners or even believe it or not shoe repair shops replace zippers.

Take it to the tailor. There is one in every big mall if not locally.
