Mr Furly had a wife for a while named Lana that had him whipped. She was also always after Jack. I think She could have kicked a88 in a fight but mr and mrs Roper were both tough and mr Furly was wimpy so it woud have been uneven and Ropers would have won. I think Lana would have tried to fight both the Ropers and mr Furly would have been her cheerleader. Then when the Ropers won mr Furly would have cried. or maybe the Ropers and the Furlys would have turned into one big orgy. Especially mrs Roper and mrs Furly were horny and their cat fighting would have turned into sex play. Mr Roper would have that creepy grin and watch and mr Furly's eyes would be popping out while Lana and mrs Roper got him in the middle of them. That was the thing back then, "Swinging"
OOPS! Lana wasn't Furley's wife, she was just another tenant in the building. But it made a good story.

Ropers.. Mrs Roper was one tough broad. She could have taken Mr Roper and Mr Furley on with one hand tied behind her back...
also, there was no Mrs Furley, producers of the show could not find one woman interested in auditioning to play the role of the wife of Don Knotts
