Who said there was molten steel? No one claimed the steel melted, the claim was "weakened". There was no conspiracy, get on with your life.

Because the farther away from the source of the fuel, the less hot the flame will be. I would imagine close to the source of the flame, it was very white and blue.

What has color of the flames have anything to do with melting of steel. It is the heat from the flames not the color which melted the steel

Can't get what you're trying to say... The flames were hot enough to soften, if not melt steel if that's what you wanted to know.
