Have fun of course! But, it depends on your theme, what you like, what you think your friends will like and where you'll want to have it. You don't HAVE to cut corners unless you know how many have RSVPd. If you have a lot of responses, then you should cut some corners...turning 17 doesn't happen everyday so go with your imagination and see what you come up with!

How about a Hawaiian party - decorate with beach stuff, etc. Put on some Hawaiian music, have a hula dancing contest - have fun!!

do a fancy dress party. or some kind of theme like cowboys and indians or whores and pimps haha.
and lots of alcohol always goes down well (not speaking from personal experience of course...)

You should get a lot of beer, liquor, weed, and loud music and have a big bonfire outside and party it up, just make sure the cops don't bust it.

Just do what you and your friends you're inviting like to do. If youre all friends, youll have fun doing anything together.
