Racism has been around since the beginning of times and it will never go away because people in general always seem to equate differences with being of better or worse quality (examples: eye color, hair color, hair texture, skin color).
In all actuality, none of it matters because if you are a good person, you are good because of what is in you and not because of exterior traits.
Additionally, if you believe that God (or whomever you believe in) is perfect, then how is it that He would give better traits, etc. to one race of people and not another (create man unequally)?
Man has the power to erase racism, but that would take each individual to assess him or herself and make a concious change and this is not going to happen (if it was to happen, this would mean that 100% of the world population has to make that change).
Unfortunately, racism will never go away as long as man exists. All we can do is work on ourselves and make that change within our own hearts to not be racially biased toward others.

Perhaps in a millenia or two when we are all the same colour from mixing genes racism will die, but sadly humanity always finds something else to fight over, religion, country of origin, eye colour, left handed or right handed, sexual preference... Personally, I found bringing a new race into my racist white family had interesting results. Two of my younger brothers ended up with wives of another race. By then, our parents had already gotten past their racism to accept my lovely daughters so it was easier. The urge for grandparenthood over rode their prejudices. The only way racism will die is to stand against its proponents and realize all human beings are equal in the eye of our Creator, whatever name you give him or her. Don't waste time arguing over racism, just set an example and perhaps, one person at a time, we will shamble slowly towards racial tolerance, although it is an uphill battle all the way.

I don't think it will. Unfortunately most people today still have biases against others outside their own group. Some say in the future we won't have race because everyone will be of mixed ancestry, But I totally disagree. In the US inerracial marriage is generally accepted but still not nearly as prominent as some make it out to be. In some other areas of the world people take much more pride in their ethnicity and don't marry outside their race. Usually people are racist more because members of their race share the same heritage, and not because of the actual amount of melanin in the skin. So respect for different cultures must come first, then respect for other races will come.

I think it all depends on parents , thats where it all starts from and also there are stupid people in society that make racial slurs about other cultures and that is wrong to hate another person because of their skin, I think it will get better than what it has been in the past, because kids are taught about diversity and it also depends on their life out side of school too.If kids are brought up to hate their most likely to hate other people.Thats where it is learned. And I think it will die if kids are taught diversity at home too rather than just school.

racism is an easy way to discriminate. So yeah, i could be switched to a hatred of blonds, or browned eyed people or something else, esp if in 1000 years all the races combine into one looking set of people. who knows

Sadly I dont. I am a teacher and tackle intolerance for others on a daily basis. A lot of it is not even race related, just simple but sad frustration and lack of understanding for others differences. Still - we must not lose hope - one persons efforts are better than none.

NO! Races have racism amongst themselves. I know I've heard blacks make fun of "yellow girls" who are trying to be white, or blue guys who needs to go back to Africa. Or white people with really kinky hair who "shoulda" been black.ect., or the white girl who tans all the time trying to look more hispanic. And so it goes........
