***Post pulled from a lucid dreaming form***

First of all, as was said before, blind people that have seen can have dreams with sight, but those that have not, (practically) can't. Of course, technically, anything is possible in dreams, but it can be compared to inventing a 6th sense for anyone that has the other 5 working. Sure, you can think of one and imagine how it would feel (might be an idea for a LD btw...). Someone who hasn't experienced sight can imagine what it's like too, but he won't experience the actual thing, and just as we normally don't have a 6th sense in our dreams (at least I don't >.>), they don't have a fifth.

It's different for blind people who have experienced sight. These people know what it's like and as such, can have dreams where they can see. However, most of the time they will have dreams without sight (unless they've gone blind very recently). After all, most dreams represent our daily lives and all dreams are largely a result of our expecation. This means that if a person is used to being blind and expects it, they probably will be blind in their dreams even though they have known sight.

Finally, while it may seem that having sight in your dreams when you're blind is an easy way to become lucid, this might not be as simple as it seems. Of course, I'm not blind myself (I probably woulda made more typos...) so I can't speak from personal experience, but almost every morning, the dream I was having before I woke up contained something at least as weird as a blind person seeing, and still I haven't had a lucid dream for almost two months (sucks to be me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/a_damnit.gif)). The main problem is that our awareness is greatly lowered in dreams. Knowing some good dreamsigns definitly is important, but without being aware, it doesn't matter what your dream throws at you, you won't see through it.

If they were born blind, no. If they had sight first, and then went blind later in life, they may see in their dreams.

Not sure....they must have them, but what would they dream about if they were born blind? What would a person look like to them, or a bird....would everything always be like a black hole?
