In most of these cases the body absorbs the empty sac. It will definitely not be taken out, because it could cause complications with the healthy pregnancy. Talk to your dr and ask these questions, they will be happy to answer them.

I was probably four weeks pregnant when I started cramping, I refused to go to the doctor because I had already had one healthy child that the doctors had no clue about. Around my seventh week I washed my car and started bleeding, I went to the hospital, the ER doctor that was not a OBGYN hurt my right side when he had examined me, they did an ultrasound and after about ten hours of sitting in the ER with no food or anything to drink they told me I was pregnant with twins in two separate sacs and neither baby had a heartbeat! I later discovered that neither baby would of had a heartbeat because they were not old enough. I went to some OBGYN specialist who did sonograms and blood test each week and the one twin on my right side I lost. The twin on the left side absorbed the one on the right, I also blood for about a month with a horriable smell. My doctor gave me an antibiotic to clear that and I now have a beautiful healthy six year old daughter. They ER that told me that they both had died would not release my records and later the doctors tried to comfort me with it was probably just a blood clot all alone. If your body does not absorb the sac, it can be very dangerous to you and they will want to give you a DNC. I will pray for you beacause I know that that is the only thing that helped me. My own mother who is against abortion insisted I had one because this is really dangerous and I refused. If I would of gave up faith she would not be here today. If you need to talk my email address is lisa080371@yahoo.com. I hope I helped and God Bless you and your unborn baby!

I had a friend who had that and the empty sack was just absorbed by the baby (according to her doctor). It didn't cause any complications.

My daughter did, it disappeared, maybe was absorbed by your body, after a few months.
