Don't pin the mistakes and actions of a few Soldiers and Marines on the entire 132,000-strong force, or the millions that have served. There are freaks and criminals in every culture.

No offense intended ya know. Our military fights for everyone's freedom of speech, including the wacko's right to say America is an evil country and my right to tell someone to "shut up", however rude it may be.

My nephew was a marine there. He told us of the good that the soldiers are doing and the appreciation that is shown them.

In spite of some difficulties encountered in Iraq, our troops have had a very large positive impact on the life of everyday citizens there. Health care, schools, utilities and civilian services are up and running and making life better for the Iraqi citizenry. No, I have not been in country this time, but I know that out kids are doing a tough job, doing it well and putting their hearts and souls into making a positive difference there.

No, I certainly don't think our military is doing terrible and evil things everyday in Iraq. I KNOW better - have had 2 cousins and a dear friend serve over there. I also know that our media is completely full of crap, so I don't believe what they tell me.
God bless our troops - come home safely, guys!!

i havent been there nor do i want to be .let me say clearly i dont hate america or the soldiers giving up their lives ..am not even americam but i am a cincerned citizen of the world and a muslim.what the u.s president and hi croonies are doing is just a modern day crusade and the target is all of the middle east...i say its a shame.he sent ex sec of state powell to the u.n general assembly to amke the case vs iraq tojustify u.s invasion well what is powell saying?he lied .he was sent to lie.whats bush saying..there are mistakes made in policy...well buddy mistakes have cost 3000+ lives more than those who dide on the awful day of 9/11 and soon more than the vietnam war (i dont know then numbers there am just speculating ).all am saying is you cant afford to make mistakes ,mistakes in a time of war cost lives .every soldier has been told that before "MISTAKES COST LIVES!"isnt 3000 lives enough ?how many more befre he gets it?its failed policy!!its a shame people a real shame a pres who has too big of an ego to take his responsabilities
those who died were sons daughters father mother brothers and amny other things to their relatives but most importantly they were americans..yes they just like the rest of you are the voters here ..would you have voted to re elect him knpwing this now?hmm theres a good question
god bless america god bless the world
bush its time you admit your final mistake:policy failure..get these kids out of there they are getting massacred you dont know what you are up against...get them out get out of iraq and the middle east
again i have no hate for america other than its president and his governement and policies..

Does the name Lynndie England ring a bell ? What her and her cohorts did in those prisons was despicable and put an ugly black eye on the military. America is not suppose to stoop to the level of terrorist, and thats exaclty what we did. I have read some of your other answers and i have not objected to your opinions . If you want to engage people in intelligent conversation, you might want to consider NOT telling them to shut up. Just a thought.

Terrible and evil? No, not in the literal sense of the words. But either way, the US should not be in Iraq. Period.
Oh, and by the way, anyone who blindly agrees with President Bush is an idiot and a sheep.

But you didn't even give us a chance to answer your question... remember you're protecting the United States and its people's right to voice their own opinions. Don't state a question if you can't handle the many answers you receive. Take care...

Depends on whether you consider the killing of people as well as the occupation of their country against their will for geopolitical power, leverage over oil dependent nations and profit for US coorporations as terrible and evil. Clearly those doing it have their justifications.
