If this love of your life truly loves u he/she will learn to live with your pet your pet will always be there. If he/she doesn't understand the import-ants of your pet to you. then there truly not the love of your life the love of your life will learn to adapt to your needs as you should adapt to Therese. that's what loves all about sacrificing for each other.

I would have to get rid of the pet... HOWEVER... allergies to pets is usually caused by pet dander (most peeps are allergic to cats.. not dogs... lol). This can be remedied most of the time but takes time and work on your part or money... The dander on a pet can be controlled by weekly bathing. I mean deep down scrub it to the skin and followed with a conditioner to keep the skin from flaking...
Is This Worth A Try? The other alternative is monthly allergy shots for your partner... which with all the dogs in the world he might end up having to have anyway...
Eliminating the dander should eliminate the allergy problem..
HOPEFULLY
But... if you have to get rid of the dog... remember dogs are fickle and will love the new master too.
GOOD LUCK

how long have you had the pet? how old is the pet and like i always say pets are great companions but boyfriends they come and go, if you get rid of your pet and things don't work out for you and your boyfriend then you will lose both your pet and your boyfriend, tell him to take allergy meds.

Well, since I have neither I wouldn't have to get rid of either, but if it ever happened, theoretically, I would locate a new home for the pet. If all goes well, everyone's happy, no hearts were broken. This all was, of course, assuming you were referring to the love of my life and not just another girlfriend.

I would try to keep my pet away from the guy I like. And, if that person liked me enough to try to get something to help him tolerate my pet because of me, then that is a guy worth keeping.
Other then that, I would keep my pet.

I would without a doubt find another partner, my pet doesn't judge me, criticize me, put me down. Think about it

I can't be parted with my dog. He would have to go get some allergy shots because I'm not giving up Murray. Fortunately, my b/f is not allergic to my dogs.

I just started dating a guy who hates cats...and I have two of them....so I am kinda having a dilemma now. I am going through a divorce and so my ex husband would be more than willing to take the cats. If this guy is really as great as he seems, as much as it will kill me, I would have to leave my cats to be with him
