My God. Im so sick of hearing this pathetic lie. You cannot "defend" American citizens from Iraq because Iraq had no intention of attacking us. You can only defend someone who is in danger from the entity that is threatening them. No threat, no danger, no defense They are fighting for IRAQI CIVILIANS and they are fighting for the Bush Admins corporate interests. There are billions of dollars of contracts that depend that this war continues in order to be paid out. Our safety on the other hand has absolutely nothing to do with this war. Please people. Dont be stupid. Get it right. Your thoughts? There..now its a question.

This applies in life in general... you have to help others so if you are ever in a time of need they can help you.

I have helped so many people in their times of need. I try to never ask for anyone's help but have had no choice but to ask once or twice. Every time I need help (which is almost never), help always comes running.

Good analysis Mr. Monday Morning Quarterback.

Too bad we didn't have your 20/20 vision before the war started. By the way here are a few quotes from the esteemed leaders that I am sure you either support or voted for:

"Iraq is a long way from USA but, what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
Madeline Albright, Feb 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983."
Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

Chew on that and then tell me that noone besides Bush considered him a threat.

"[Your] hypocisy knows no bounds."

Why is there a war? Why isn't there some covert/overt special force patrolling the globe for the real threat, Bin Laden? Oh yeah, that's right, because we're not going to catch him until Bush is out of office, because Bin Laden has ties to the Bush family! Therefore, Bush needed a smokescreen to blind the populace, aka- Saddam Hussein & the Iraq war.

I have been trying to figure that one out for a while now. I think we are fighting for Iraqis just as we fought for Kuwaitis during the Gulf War. I know we have oil interests there, and I wish we had a well funded alternative energy source program here so we weren't so sensitive to the Arab needs. That's my idea of security, we have our own so we don't need any other country's product. When Bush said we were fighting for our freedom I almost choked, I mean really will they come over here in mass as an army and burn the White House as the Brits did, and even they couldn't get the country then. Its been a diet of verbal garbage and jingoism and I'm tired of it
Time moves on and you can't judge an international situation by what someone said in 2002, any more than you can judge it by what they said on 9/12,

Iraq war vet and sadly i must agree. We are fighting for Iraq and for the special intrests of certain politicians here in America, not for Americans in general.
I bought into it at first-that Iraq was a threat...it didnt take long to wake up.

It is sad that so many American citizens think that just because a bomb didn't just go off in your backyard, you are not under attack. Iraq's regime actively supported terrorists who attacked the US on US soil multiple times over the last few decades. Saddam's regime also slaughtered more of his own civilians than have been killed by our military - by far.
