It is extremely unlikely that mankind will ever reach "World Peace," in the sense that people will no longer fight, hurt each other, or even kill each other. Humanity defines itself by difficulty, thrives on challenge, and often shows its best qualities in turmoil. Also, people will always want what they do not have, fear what they do not understand, and neglect what they do not encounter. All these will lead to conflict. However, it is no inconcievable that "Warfare" will change so greatly with advancing technology and global connection that what we once considered "War" will no longer exist. However, if we all have to wear Kaftans and play with henna, then I can tell you right now that I am gonna start some conflict. Hope that helps.

World peace wil proabaly come after the humans die out.

Humans need to feel a rush

They need to have their blood pumping and the adrenalin flowing.

If there was world peace, everyone would get bored then start playing dangerous games and then argue about who the winners were and start different factions to fight with each other about it.

this is why war films, horror films and dangerous games / extreme sports are popular. Thinkers believe that if people can get distracted and entertained by these mediums then they will spend less time seeking a rush from attacking their freinds.

the people behind Bush, believe that if all dictatorships around the world a replaced with democracies then International anarchy will diminish and change into heated debates rather than defiant ultamatums from Tyrants. but i doubt that they believe that it will actually lead to world peace when there is finally democracies around the world.

Anyway, people prefer to idolise individual leaders rather then and support groups and committees. so kingdoms and monachys may actually be supported in a revolution against the controlling potentially sinister image that will result from an inter-world democracy

Never.
Even if the Earth itself neede to unite in order to save it, it would never happen. Just old prejudices and old contrasts between East and West would prevent it from happening. Too much has happened on all sides to let it happen easily.

Dancing around in Kaftans would really help that much either! XD!

The only chance will be the millenium. It's supposed to be after the second coming and for a thousand years. Peace is supposed to reign on earth. It is said to be the "end" of the world as we know it. All the bad will be stripped from the earth and only good will remain. Other than that...I don't think so.

I wish there was a chance of attaining world piece in our lifetime, but sadly I think there will always be people who fight and won't get along with others. I don't think that the whole world has ever been at peace before, or even if it has, things don't seem to be getting better...

Peace and War, like Heaven and Hell, exist only in the way we look at things. The distance between Peace and War is only a thought away. So is peace possible?

If it's only a chance you want, then there is. Every passing minute is a chance for world peace. However, humans are so into their prejudices that the chance is not given a chance. Still, there is a chance that soon it would happen.

I wish there was. even with goverenment 'tring' for peace. most polititions i get the feeling they are just promoting themselves. I dont think it is human nature to like every one and untill we can settle little differences with our neighbour i think there is very little hope of world peace in this life time.

Umm, no! I guess the world peace issue would depend on how long you think you're gonna live. Probably won't be anytime approaching soon though!
