Before I changed to high speed internet I subscribed to People PC. I have emailed them, called them and even got my bank involved to get the service dropped. They continue to charge me. I'm so ticked ! Thanks.

Hi!

My aunt had a similar experience with their service. Was the plan you subscribed to a month to month? Sometimes they get you with a low per month fee but they sign you up for a year of service.

You need to make sure you didn't subscribe to year long service and that's why they keep charging you. Or they require written notice to cancel the service. That's why you need to read every last word of the Terms of Service!

I would call People PC again and keep asking for a supervisor until you find one that will thoroughly explain their cancellation policies and go from there. If they don't require a written request from you, then ask the account to be closed. Write down his/her name, the date you called and ask for a letter of cancellation to be mailed to you. Let them know that you will be calling your bank and will be asking them to refuse further payment on that account.

Then call your bank and be assertive in asking them to refuse payment!

You can't keep paying for a service you don't have!

This is just a suggestion of course...

Good luck!

Stop the way you have it set up to pay them. If they automatically take it from your checking or saving, then your bank can refuse the transaction. Take a copy of your email or what ever else you have of notifying them to stop the service. If it is through your credit card, again the credit card company can refuse the transaction. I would send them your contact information to stop the service. Make sure you keep a copy of each time you have contacted them to stop the service.

4. Termination.
You may terminate your membership for any reason by providing notice of intent to terminate to PeoplePC by:

Read your terms of service with People PC it will state in there what you need to do to cancel it. Some companies require a written (not e-mailed) request to cancel an account, if that is the case with People PC, my suggestion is to send it in with a signed confirmation of receipt (and keep a copy of the original) that way you can prove when they received the request
