Alrighty, I started my period on the 22nd of December, I showed all the signs of ovulation about a week or so ago, I had some brownish spotting but only when I wiped a few days ago it last for two days or so. I check my cervix for the position and texture of it to help assist in conception and the best times for ovulation and what not (please don't say it is gross tons of women do it ) Well my cervix is high and slightly soft and closed so I know I am not ovulating now and last night when I was checking my cervical position and cervical mucus and I had a huge glob about a tad bit smaller than a quarter of mucus come out it was actually gross and I have never seen this before it was clear and jelly like What do you think this could mean, I don't think it is a concern for running to my doctor right now I would just like some opinions as to what some of you think it could be. Thanks in advance **SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY **

You could be forming a mucus plug. I am on the same cycle as you right down to the day and I had some light (very light) spotting the day before yesterday. Maybe we both had implantation bleeding!! I'm expecting my period on the 18th and I think i'll start testing with first mornings urine on saturday.
I tested 6 days before my AF with my last one and got a positive.
Good luck!! Oh, and by the way, it's not gross!! It's good for a woman to know her body!!!

It is different for a lot of women when they are ovulating- that is why there is an ovulation test (you can buy it at walgreens) and it tells you when by the amount of days you have left in the ovulation stage. It tests it by the hormone levels you have in your system which is a better way than to check the mucus level yourself. I have four children and I still to this day don't know when I ovulate during my cycle. I would get the ovulation test and Walgreens also has a fertility test for men which checks if the sperm level is high enough to conceive.

I have this mucus like jelly stuff almost every month and I think it happens when I am ovulating. I'ts not anything wrong Im sure because my friends and I are very open to it. They all have the same thing. I want to know how you check your cervics. I have never heard of that.

It sounds like you are ovulating. I get that too and always around the time of ovulation. Not sure what the spotting is though, its too early for implantation bleeding. I wouldnt worry about it and just hope your period doesnt come :) Good job on the cervix know-how...Ive tried that but I guess I dont know how to do it properly! good luck!

It is normal to have excessive vaginal secretions when ovulating. Women who aren't sexually active and in their prime will expel fluid. It's like getting rid of the "unused fluids", fluids meant for intercourse/orgasm. I've even known a couple girls who had really high libidos who would had so much "extra fluids" that they would wear a panty liner. At this point I wouldn't worry.

IF THE MUCUS WAS STICKY THEN YOU ARE FERTILE.
IF YOU WATCH YOUR MUCUS YOU CAN TELL WHEN YOU ARE MOST FERTILE. WATERY MUCUS MEAN NOT FERTILE AND THE THICK SNOT LIKE STICKY MUCUS MEANS IT IS A FERTILE TIME. I LEARNED THIS WHEN I WORKED FOR A MIDWIFE AND FERTILITY DOCTOR.
