Why does it blow its fuse every few days? Works well when fuse replaced but same thing recurs after a few days of functioning well. Nothing else unusual noticed. Its only about a year old.

The microwave you're using draws more wattage than the circuit can provide. My mom had a nice 1000W microwave, but then moved it to the other side of the kitchen (and thus, a different outlet). When that happened, she tripped the breaker several times before the microwave up and died on its own. I replaced it with a 900W microwave and she hasn't had a problem since (it's been a few months now).

If your house has fuses instead of breakers, it's likely that the system is old and wasn't designed to meet modern electrical demands. An electrician can run a new circuit or a new sub-panel to give you enough electricity, but it's definitely time for an upgrade.

Make sure nothing else that draws a lot of current is on the same line. If there isn't make sure you'r fuse is tight when you replace it. If it's a G.E. fuse, try a different brand. It's not the microwave unless you only use it every few days.

Might be a fuse. The manufacturer usually hides it so we the consumer can not find them but that's what usually goes on most microwaves. Got to take the cover off to find it then once you do carefully remove it and go to your local appliance repair place and they can sell you a new one.

I could be wrong- but it sounds like there's something wrong with the wiring in your microwave. Ours did much the same thing before it gave up the ghost- but it was much older.
