My baby is turning one on the 22. He has his to bottom front teeth and is getting a top tooth..I dont know the correct name of it all i can really think of to call it is his little fang. And I was told by a co-worker that he may not be getting his top front teeth. Is this true? Also brushing...and good baby toothbrushes? with safe to swallow toothpaste?

My son did not get his first tooth until he was ten months old. Those were his two front bottom teeth, then he got both his little fangs so he looked like a vampire (very amusing) His front teeth came shortly after that. So I don't think you have anything to worry about. As far as tooth paste goes I liked the oregel training toothpaste, or you could try a non-fluoridated toothpaste from your local health food store. Good luck!

I got the baby tooth brush in walmart in the baby section that has a rubber thing you put on your finger with safe to swallow tooth past. My daughter just turned one on the 30th and she has 8 teeth and I have no clue why he is getting his "fang teeth " before the middle two but I would not be worried. I would also look into going to the dentist with him for a check up. They need to start going around 1

Don't worry. My babysitter's Grandaughter got her fangs first before any other teeth. We thought it was strange but........it was really cute.
My son didn't get his first 2 bottom teeth until he was 9 mnths and then the next 2 top teeth came in when he was one.
Just think! That's less time you have to keep up w/ brushing them! I use the baby toothpaste w/ out flouride because I read it's safe to swallow. But my Mom says I'm crazy because she said if normal toothpaste was bad, I'd be dead because that's all they had back when I was little.

There's really no urgent need to brush until the baby is 2 years old, but after then, regular brushing and twice-a-year dental appointments are a MUST!

Your baby WILL get all his teeth, don't worry. But if he has tough time getting them out or is really, really extremely late with getting those out, consult a pediatric dentist.

I give my baby specially formulated water, called Nursery, with added fluoride in it, it's supposed to help them have healthy teeth. It's sold in CVS and other stores. I give it to him to drink and also use it for diluting his juice and making his cereal. Basically, for everything where water is needed.

Your son will get his two front teeth.

The Oragel Brand makes a good baby tooth paste and it comes with a brush that you slide on your finger for better control in baby's mouth, sorry I forgot name.
