...Please let grandma and grandpa enjoy them for a couple of hours." I found this sign to be overtly manipulative, as if they are trying to convince me that their lack of child care is a good thing. What do you think? Would it be better to simply say that ther is not child care available or something like that?

I personally find it to be a really cute saying.. of course I dont have children and dont care for them. But I think its their way of saying it in a sweet sense. Also, why not just ask them about it?

I think it's a nice way of saying this is not a place for children. I go to a bar that has a sign up that says "This is a bar- bars are NOT for children! You will be immediately asked to leave should you bring a child into this bar!" Thay could have said it like that because a gym is really close second to the worst place you could take a kid. People are trying to get their workout and having kids running around is unpleasant not to mention unsafe.

Firstly, I think it IS a good thing.

If they had kids running around at my gym I would find another Gym.

I think the sign is very appropriate. People go to a gym for a reason and having children around doesn't really fit the mileu.

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting that in a pleasant way, in fact I think it is kind of nice.

If you were genuinely offended by it, you might try looking for a gym that does have a kiddie room, or some sort of alternate child-care.

If neither of those things suit you, or don't fit your budget, maybe a Bowflex would be more comfy.

I think it's a polite way of saying "leave your kids at home, this is a gym, not a playpen." I think it's persuasive because then it seems like a little vacation or break for the people who just want an hour or two to get out and exercise without having their family annoying them about random things.

It never occurred to me that gyms would even HAVE child care......

So I would be surprised to see a sign saying they don't have it.

I don't know that their wording was the work of a marketing genius, but I do think it does sound better than just saying "no child care here."

What a colourful tale! What replaced into your question? in case you elect my opinion, i think of there's a distinction between an open-palm smack on the butt and baby abuse. I artwork retail...yeah your infants at the instant are not likely to settle down and behave in simple terms on account which you asked them appropriate, and ignoring them in simple terms makes them scream louder. i replaced into spanked as a baby, and that i did not grow to be a serial killer.

you are right no child care is available ; did you say something ; sometimes people just don't think that a simplistic sign says the same ; too wordy a sign anyway ; sounds like the person writing it has issues; say something
