If you can do anything with either hand then you are ambidextrous. I can throw good with my right hand and almost as good with my left, but I cannot write at all with my left hand.

When I was younger, my 6th grade teacher was ambi. It was so cool to see him go from writing on the chalk board with his right hand and then with his left. It just looked really neat.

I can do almost everything with both hands, though my writing is nicer with the right one (I don't write with my left hand allot, only when I need or are too tired), so I guess I am ambidextrous.
I think if you can do anything with both hands, but doing things with one or another hand is more matter of preference than ability, then you are ambidextrous too.
The thing is, that almost everything is this word is designed to make life easier to right handed! So that's a big deal when you have to decide which hand to use for some things.

Not necessarily, it just means that you can do some stuff left-handed, and others right-handed. You'd only be ambidextrous if you could write with both hands easily, or play sports with both hands easily.

Me? I'm an all-out righty. I wish I were ambidextrous.

My dominant hand is right, I write with both hands though I perfer using my right hand. But I had surgery on my left b/c of a repetitive injuries, apparently I use my left hand more than my right. So I'm an ambi who uses her left more, yet perfers writing with her right, if any of that makes sense.

i take advantage of my left hand to position in writing, my precise hand to diminish nutrition with knives or paper with scissors, i dribble a basketball with my precise hand a lot less stressful than left, yet shoot left-exceeded. I also bat in softball left-exceeded, so i guess i'm ambidextrous

A wee bit ambidextrous, I'd say. I'm a southpaw, too, but I iron, bowl and click my mouse with my right hand.
