No. The Roomba will try to vaccum them up and get stuck. It does have a mode where it shuts off if that happens, but it doesn't get much done if it stops! If it can roll over it, it will try to suck it up.
Pick up anything that it shouldn't suck up. If you really don't want to pick up your dirty laundry just throw it on a chair or something - it just has to be off the floor. Larger things it will bounce off of. Some mats (like a bathmat) may cause problems as well.
I've found that running our Roomba every day has made a huge difference in the appearance of our carpet.

you better remove the underwaer first before you use the roomba, this is becoz the roomba while sucking in also has an exhuast port. Now if your underwear gets suckered in then the whole room is going to smell foul bcoz of your unclean uwear.

Ha ha - ok - this is funny. You need to pick up your dirty laundry. Just as with a vacuum - it can suck it up and jam the roomba. Or the roomba will hang up and not do the entire room.
Now if they would just invent a remote control machine to pick up the laundry - and do it! ;)

I don't have a Roomba, and probably never will. but vacuuming in general is a lot easier if the dirty laundry is in the hamper where it belongs.
