I pronounce it Pitts-Puke.

Pits-burg
The "e" puts more emphasis on the "u" sound. Taken a few announcing classes in an attempt to migrate towards a Broadcast Communications degree. Hope this helps :)

my hubby has to travel to pittsburgh sometimes with his job....he calls it "spits burg"...lol.....but it's pronounced...pitts berg
