Sometimes people can trick themselves into doing things they previously couldn't do. A man told me about the same problem that you're having and how he was able to overcome it.
He said that one day he had to pee real bad, but when he was standing at the urinal, three guys waled in. He new this would be his only chance so groped for something to think about that might help him go.
Then he imagined that he was hooked up to a powerful pump that would pull all the urine out of him and that he couldn't stop it. It worked for him that time and got easier each time since then to urinate in a public rest room.
Maybe something like this could work for you.

I have had the same problem on occasion and there is a medical name/term for it. But it's a mental thing, not a physical problem, so I like many men use the stalls. So don't let it worry you as long as you don't have problems out side of public bathrooms etc. I do notice that you meantioned that your straight, are you afraid that some homosexual person might be watching you and your afraid of his being attracted to you etc.? If so this could be your mental problem.

It is a matter of confidence. Maybe you are afraid other people will look at your penis and judge. I have the same problem and once driving in France I just had to leave the car on the side of the road and take a pee in some bushes. Sorry I couldn't help more...

Bashful bladder syndrome is the term.
A good trick to help the flow start is to do a times table/mental maths in your heads - this distracts you long enough to at least get it going, once started it should be fine.
After a while of doing this, the problem will probably go away ...
Hope this helps

Its probably mental. I think its called a "Bashful pecker". A lot of guys have it sometime in there life. If you have a strong urine stream at home, its not your prostate. Just concentrate on water running or falling, like a waterfall where there is a lot of splashing. Get a strong mental image of that, it worked for me.

Urinary hesitation is quite common in the presence of an audience.
It is typically a neurotic reaction and is not cause for worry.

You are shy, that's normal. Use a stall, lots of people do.
