No its not true. Maybe girls like everywhere get lazy at it during winter time, but when you go to Italian or spanish beaches, mamma mia :-)). Guess its some kind of stereotype the way some Europeans think America= Texas and cowboys.

some do, some don't

but why is leg and armpit hair considered gross on a woman and not on a man?

I think shaving the crotch is patently idiotic no matter where you are from. Just manipulation by the people that make fortunes off of waxing and electrolysis and lasers and what not.

A single generation ago men would have been totally GROSSED OUT by bald beavers. Now they are almost the norm in the U.S.

Think something fundamental changed - by itself - in their erotic preferences? Hell no. It's just a trend created by pig-headed profiteers, and followed by sheep-like simpletons.

I lived in Germany for two years when I was in the Army and I never came across it. All the girls that I met were shaved just like American women.

I prefer they shave...but under the arms isn't necessary, nor is their crotch. I actually like some hair down below...the little "landing strip" looks stupid to me. It IS a turnoff for me for a woman to have hairy legs even up to the thighs, though.

Most shave - I have to say I like legs to be nice and smooth, but hairy armpits have a strange allure...
