I know people of both sexes that have had no intimate or close emotional contact with the opposite sex for years.
I would be miserable without my wife!

It can can be about the same for both. But women realize quicker that they have self worth and do not need a man to define their existence or make them happy. Some men can't distinguish that and feel that they need a woman at all times to feel like a man, to substitute for not having a mother that they needed, or they fear being alone and do not like themselves. Men can be very needy but women can be too. But a woman is more likely to be with a man she feels needs her so that she can make him dependent on her and that way she feels needed and loved.

yes women can live without having a man in their lives and without doing the nasty, but men won't stand at least a month without women.

It's very easy to live a fulfilled life as a single. If you don't need to be part of a couple, don't do it.
