My wife and I went to Cancun for 7 nights in a VERY nice hotel (called Riu Cancun), all inclusive for less than $2,000. That included flight, food, hotel, gratuity and all.

You might have some great places right in your own backyard, which would probably be the most affordable option. You'd save by not having to deal with airfare, car rentals, and so on, plus you wouldn't have the discomfort of trying to learn your way around a new place. One easy way could be a change of scenery: if you live in a suburb or rural area, hit the big city and stay in a swanky hotel. If you and your bride are from the city, maybe you can find a nice mountain retreat or country bed & breakfast. March is not a very popular time for vacationing, so no matter where you go this is about the best time of year for rates.
If you're set on getting out of your area for your honeymoon, try Las Vegas or Orlando. Not only are these places guaranteed great airfare rates, there are several ranges of prices on things like hotels and entertainment so you can find what works best for you. As an extra tip, if you're considering Orlando, look at hotels in Kissimmee and St. Cloud...they're often priced much lower than their Orlando counterparts and are literally minutes from the city limits.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, hope these ideas help!

You don't say where you live, what kind of things you like, and what 'affordable' means for you, which are very important things to consider. If you live close to the coast, look for some quiet romantic hotel/reasort by the beach, or if you live closer to the mountains that applies, too. Look for small towns with services for tourists. Try to make sure intimacy is a must, no too busy places are a good idea, too. Depending on your taste, consider be close to the nature (a cabine, hiking, biking with a night in a tent, or things like that..), or something more urban (like going to visit a near interesting city: look for a hotel in quiet but interesting area and make a list of interesting places lke museums, restaurants, clubs, etc all by yourself).
If you have a little more to expend, you could think of something like Niagara Falls, The Rockies or some beach resort.
Anyway, it would be a good idea to look for vacation plans at a tourism agency near you, or check out at expedia.com.

1) A cruise -- you can get as low as $250
2) Rent a cabin in the woods or on the beach -- you don't have to stay at a resort to live in paradise. Remember what the most important thing is -- newly weds spending time TOGETHER.
3) March will be tough because of Spring Break. You need to book it by the end of January.
4) What do you two enjoy doing?

My husband and I went to Gatlinburg, TN and it was great! We had a cabin that was very plush, but you can find private cabins for relatively cheap, or there are lots of hotels and lodges. There are TONS of things to do while there: dinner theatres, Dollywood, Outlet Mall, tons of shops downtown, Ober Gatlinburg, etc. Check out the website: www.gatlinburg.com
They have listings for all of the lodging in the area and all of the events.
You could go to New Orleans, LA, it is always a fun place to visit.
Good luck and congratulations!

Myrtle Beach, Southern Texas Beach, any beach. The rates don't usually go up until June or so. But places like Vegas will be expensive year round. Where do you live?

well if you wanna travel..go camping, or rent a cabin type thing. it all depends on how far you are willing to go and what you will spend. look at site such as priceline or expedia. or you can even stay in a nearby hotel with an all amenities room, and save on travel!

The best place to get ideas would be a travel agent. They have packages to fit all kinds of budgets.
