A satirical answer might be to say "no! So you'd better start working on lowering your self esteem if you want to achieve your goals!"

Honestly, some do and some don't but it doesn't really matter anyway because if you lack confidence, you won't suddenly become genuinely confident just because guys apparently like it (though you might be able to pretend). Likewise, if you truly don't lack confidence, why would you ever consider pretending not to be in order to please men? (I guess the exception here would be certain role play games played by a sexually submissive person, at least partly for their own pleasure, during sex but that's an open performance so I don't think it's quite the same.)

As Shayna says so eloquently, not all men are the same and your question pretty much implies they are. It could also be taken to imply that a girl's prime role in life, in accepting that essential nature, is to work out what pleases men and change her personality accordingly. However, to be fair, I don't actually know you and realise that particular reading would be less likely to be applied to a similar question from a boy about girls. (Ironically, is it actually all too easy for progressive readers to get stuck in a rut because of history?)

Overall, I'd say most genuinely confident people are drawn to other confident individuals but don't like arrogant tyrants (confident masochists actually *looking* for a tyrant to fulfil their needs being the notable exception). They also generally have no problem with a few manageable insecurities, as this is all part of being human and flawed.

Confidence should be from with-in, it gives beauty to a person. Girls with confidence would be more beautiful, helps men in a better way too.

So, which guys are you asking this of.....

those of us who like confident women,

or those who don't like confident women?

All your really going to come up with is those who do and those who don't (and maybe a few in-betweens) from which you can extract the Yes n No answers and, with a little bit of math, you are going to extract a none useful answer of percentages which, in the end, will only tell you some-thing about those few who answered.

Not exactly a cross-section of the male members of society eh!

I'm very attracted to men who like strong, confident women. Unfortunately, these men complain that I'm too shy and that I should be more outgoing.

If you are confident in nature, you are very lucky. There are plenty of wonderful guys out there who will love you for it. It's a bit rougher for the shy girls--especially since most of the men who prefer shy girls tend to be domineering jerks, at least in my experience.

Confident ... not arrogant... guys do. Confidence looks for confidence. I would never go out with a guy who is not self-assured.

Actually confident women are low maint, because they are usually emotionally healthy. They look for "partners" in their intimate relationship and cultivate INTERdependence.

The short answer is yes. The complication is where that confidence becomes an attempt at dominance. In any relationship (unless one partner of either sex particularly wants to be dominated) if both partners aren't getting listened to and appreciated then this will cause serious problems in the longer term.

Most men are intimidated but overly confident girls. They are usually the highest maintenance girlfriends as well. But there will always be some men out there who will like nothing but a confident girl...
