Ok, i just saw that the DEMs are wanting to be the first in 10 years to increase the minimum wage....am i just stupid or wasn't that just increased to $6.85?

It might have just been Ohio, but i could have sworn that in november i voted on the issue of minimum wage increase. And i know it passed b/c many of the bussinesses around me are readjusting their wages/prices. I don't think it would have been just Ohio, would seem rather pointless to me. Am i wrong in thinking that the DEMs are just trying to be people pleasers by trying to take credit for what was already done and voted on?

there hasn't been a federal raise in minimum wage for nearly ten years, becuase congress used to have the common sense that tells you that you can't value everyone and every job the same.

Many states have increased the Minimum Wage on a state basis. The Democrats are establishing a new National MInimum to cover everyone.

The ballot measure was for Ohio. The minimum wage passed today is higher, $7.25, and supersedes the Ohio wage. About 30 states have a minimum wage higher than the federal. They can make it whatever they want but it can't be lower than $5.15.

that was just ohio (state issue 2). congress wants to increase the federal minimum wage which supercedes any state minimum wage that would be any lower. doing so would make a change in a bunch of states in the middle and south of the country. whether that change is a good thing or not, we'll see.

Many states have increased the minimum wage above the national level of $5.15. Here in Minnesota it is $6.15.

That must of been Ohio law! Look pal exploiting people for wages that are not progressive enough to be a part of the economy is slavery! If your in business & don't want to pay workers enough to be a part of society, then you should not be in business!

It was a state law. The feds are playing catch up, though I doubt it will change anything - everybody is paying more than minumum to attact decent employees anyway. As far as the 'people pleasers' question - yes, but not for the reason you asked.
