That's what Charlie Weis did. He never played football in the NFL or college.

You might be able to coach kids, or do some assistant coaching, maybe... Which would be great, for you and the kids. If your good who knows you might work your way up or something..
Now about the bragging thing...
But why do you want to spend the rest of your life re living your 'glory' days that only lasted a short time.... Sure tell the grandkids but non many other people care to hear about it let alone stomach you bragging about high school.... Please don't someday saddle your wife with listening to it.
There are thousands and thousands of kids in high schools all over the nation who play football in high school it really isn't a big deal.
Are you in college? Did you not make the team? What about playing at a JC? There was a kid here recently from our JC who got moved up to regular college team after a year, division 4 too.

Why not? Your playing against peers with the same ability and you understand the fundamentals of football. Just because you are not playing in front of 50,000 to 100,000 fans doesn't take away the 100% effort you gave grinding it out in the trenches. Every player loves to talk about the great tackle, catch and break away run. It's the passion you use to tell the story. If you love the game and have the drive to teach and develop, coach.

Depends on how good you were! And how much football knowledge you have. Why aren't you playing now? Injuries? I think brag is the wrong word. You can SHARE your memories. If you had a good experience Im sure thats something you'll always cherish. I know guys from my high school team that are still best friends years later....

I think that you have high school football experience. But going to college and NFL are two levels that are much more intense.
I don't think you can "brag", but I do think you can tell the story. When you are 60, I really hope that you have more things to brag about then high school football.

You might be able to coach a kids team, and actually make a difference in the community, but playing HS ball isn't that impressive

I would say you are good enough to be a coach. i think though the first thing would be to get a job as an assistant or do individual workouts with kids. as far as the bragging rights, if you are the type of person that likes to be the spotlight, then sure, but generally, you should let someone else bring up your accolades, then in my opinion, it would be appropriate to speak of them.
