I'm sure before the game started somewhere along the line he had heard that the SEC was a very fast conference and wouldn't be like anything he had ever faced. At what point do you think he was made a believer? At what point did they make you a believer? The SEC not only talks the talk but they walk the walk.

I don't remember which one of you commented about Penn State beating Tennessee and Wisconsin beating Arkansas but if you will look back at the records you will find that both LSU and Florida also beat those two teams but by a larger margin. That wasn't a very good indication that the SEC is weaker than th Big 10. If you can't run with the big dogs, just stay on the poarch.

By the middle of the second quarter he knew he was in trouble. I think that he had visions of his draft status dropping by the middle of the third quarter. In the middle of the forth quarter he got his mom to call Vince McMahon and plead for him to restart the XFL so he would have a job after graduation. The delusional Nut fans probably still don't beleive in the SEC, this is an attribute to their blind stupidity. Go Tigers.

Still Nobody Gives Florida The Props That They Deserve. Yea We Lost A Game But It Was To A Good SEC Team (Auburn). So What....Yea OSU Went Undefeated In The Big Ten But Who Do They Really Play....Wisconsin, Among Others..After The First Sack He Began To Think It Was Over...Then The INT Came And He Knew. But No Hype About The SEC. Hype Is Somethin That Is Questioned And Almost Untrue. The SEC Being The Best Conference In The Nation. Thats True. Speed Kills Power. Just Look At Our Defensive Ends. Smaller Than OSU's Tackles But Faster. Got Under Them Quicker And It Lead To One End Having 2 Sacks And A Forced Fumble. Dont Blame The OSU Tackles For Not Blockin Cause They Were Never Good In The First Place. SEC Teams Are Just That Good

I'd say he figured it out after the second series.

That doesn't mean he got any better.

Random fact for you: OSU only played one team on the road this season that finished in the top 15. Florida played three (or four, can't recall right now). So maybe, just MAYBE, that could mean that the Florida team was better prepared over the course of the season than the buckeyes, and that the SEC is just a stronger conference than the Big 10.

The Big 10 finished the bowls 2-5, the SEC was 6-3 in bowls. The Big East wasa 5-0, though they played lower-tier opponents for the most part, and the Mountain West was 3-1.

Ok. Florida won great! SEC is the best great! You think Troy Smith had a reason to believe the SEC was something super? How LSU beat up on Notre Dame? Not impressed. Auburn beat Nebraska by 3? Not Impressed. Arkansas beaten by a BIG 10 team! Tennessee beaten by a BIG 10 team! Alabama lost to Oklahoma State. Kentuck did beat Clemson(which I must admit I had no idea Kentucky was so good and so young!Very Impressed). South Carolina beat Houston. Not Impressed! Georgia beat Va Tech (Decent Win).

So that leaves wins over
Ohio State - Florida wins this simply because Florida was obviously the better team - Great win!
Va Tech - #19 in the final ranking. Not the best Va Tech team!
Clemson - 8-5 on the season, not Great, but I think Kentucky was very much underestimated, they are decent!
Notre Dame - face it they suck!
Nebraska - haven't been elite in years!
Houston - I hope you don't think this is a quality win.

1-2 head up against BIG 10 teams? SEC is not proving the HYPE FLORIDA is the hype!!!

I am not making a case for the BIG 10, I am just tired of hearing about the SEC this and that. FLORIDA won that game that doesn't make the whole conference the greatest, does it?

Oh and Brian L - Florida played @ Auburn and that is the only top 20 team Florida played on the road this year and what happened there? unless you are counting Arkansas (Neutral site(not a road game, if both teams are traveling) and Ohio State (Neutral site)

I don't think Troy Smith doubted a challenge was before the team, or any hype for that matter. I think that OSU as a whole did not prepare to the extent that they needed to over the 51 day layoff period, either mentally or physically. As for the SEC being so grand, recall that Wisconsin beat Arkansas, and Penn State beat Tennessee. So, the SEC is great, but not necessarily always the greatest.

Ohio State playing the worst game in their history does not make the SEC good. Ask Wisconsin if they believe the hype.

With the game Ohio State played, they couldn't have beaten Ohio University.

The SEC is a fine conference but they had a little bit of help on Monday Jan. 8th 2007!!!

Where that help came from? I won't say!!!

The BIG EAST rules in 2008!!!

I would say the first time he was run down by a 280 lb lineman. The reason we don't have a playoff is because you would have to invite 4 SEC teams, and the SEC would win every year. They can't have that.

I think Ohio State, like everyone else, underestimated the gators. But you can't blame them. The gators lost a game, OSU didn't. Troy Smith probably realized after his first or second sack.

i think after the first time he was sacked he was figuring it out, but when Florida went up 21-7, he knew the SEC was the best.
