Nope. No malaria anywhere (except Palawan and even there I don't take the pills).

Like someone else mentioned, dengue is the bigger worry. This is prevelent in the rainy season. If there is an outbreak where you are, just wear long pants and some repellant. Dengue (carrying) mosquitos only bite during the day.

Not neccesarily, Department Of Health declared that malaria was already eradicated in Philippines. What is prevalent now is Dengue Fever which its symptoms are like that of malaria. Its epidemics usually happened at after flood stricken area mostly in far flung regions of the Philippines. And Im sure you wont bother going there. LOL

No you don't need Malaria pills for Manila.

Just go to any regular doctor. But beware, malaria pills cause severe nightmares! I don't know why.

Not if you're staying in the city. Outside in forest/lake areas, perhaps.
