If that man sits down at all, he goes to sleep no matter how much sleep he gets the night before. The doctor says he's fine. I am nothing but a slave to this guy and I don't know how much more I can take of it. I wait on him constantly b/c if I don't he's griping.

Find another doctor or call a sleep clinic. Does he snore a lot at night? If he does, he might have apnea and not sleeping well at night, which would explain the constant sleeping.

There are several reasons that he may be sleeping alot. Is he working alot. Stress, depression, or he just may be tired from overworking.

If he is working an excessive amount of hours, it is normal that he would be tired when he is at home. I know there was a period of time that I was working alot of hours example. I was working 16 hours everother day. On the days I wasn't working 16 hours I was working 8 hours. Most times it was with just 8 hours off between shifts. I had two days off per week. But, I was exhausted all the time.

If that isn't your situation, then he may just be trying to hide from his life. Stresses and depression, lets face it. If he's asleep, then he doesn't have to face his problems. Try and figure out what issues he is facing. Talk to him. He is always griping that indicates that he's not happy.

Ummm...I do the same thing ( fall asleep when I sit down after a while..) But if I keep doing things and or watch something exciting on t.v. I'm fine. I'd just try to do other things than just sitting around with him I guess..and about being a slave and his griping.. you choose to deal with him and his griping. If you don't want to.. leave him.

Maybe he has depression. A lot of people with depression sleep constantly. Maybe he gets too much sleep. Who knows. Stop enabling him by waiting on him, and he'll stop griping at you.

Ignore him and do your own thing. When you're happy, someone wonders what the heck is wrong with themselves, because they're not. Indifference is a very powerful tactic. Live your life - see your friends - shop - sports, go to school. LAUGH. Whatever it takes. He is controlling you by his actions. You need to take control of your own life. He can follow - or sleep his life away. As long as you're happy, who cares? p.s. This works great on alcoholics too. They're drunk or hung over but you're happy and busy. It's called separating yourself.
