Where do I request the following information?

1. All traffic citations issued by the officer for the past two months
2. Calibration tests on the radar gun
3. Training certificate and scores for the officer on radar usage

Would this request be made to the state patrol office or the county court office where the hearing is to be held?

Sounds like you are going to get a ticket. If it is just a regular old speeding ticket just take it. It will be off your record after awhile. Unless this isn't your first one. Unless you get an attorney if the court and the officer want to give you the ticket and fines you are stuck with it. I have never seen anybody actually fight a speeding ticket and win.

What you're asking about is called a "motion of discovery." This means that, at your WRITTEN request, the prosecuting agency must provide you with a copy of all evidence being used against you. It also allows you to request certain documents such as training records of the officer (but only for the area that applies to the ticket you got) and certificates of calibration for the RADAR unit, the tuning forks, the cruiser, etc. As for the traffic tickets that the officer has written, you're out of luck. Until the tickets have been adjudicated (settled in court), they are NOT public record and you can't get them.

The written request for documents should be made to the agency where the officer is assigned.

Then again, if you're guilty of speeding, you could always just pay the fine and forget about it.

I would say the State Patrol office.....but here are my thoughts....were you speeding.....if you were you should just pay and be done with it....you are probly going to end up paying more for court costs and getting the info you need than just paying the fine....if you were not speeding, then I would go ahead a fight it...but going with the radar gun was defective defense I don't think will work......those things are well taken care of......and I have heard that officers in order to be certified to use a radar gun must also be able to estimate the speed of a care by sight only within 5 miles an hour......so they are trained very well

So your going to represent yourself? A lawyer would get all this info for you but whatever your reasons may be to attain this info yourself more power to you.

First of all, on your ticket should be an address, phone # or both as to where you are to contact if you have any questions. I would use that info first. Give them the name and badge # of the officer, time and date of traffic violation and questions that you may have. FYI- There are a lot of lawyers that have the first consulations visit for free, you might want to check into this first before you do this. They could give you a lot of info prior to your hearing and guide you in the right direction before you attempt this. Good luck though! Lots of people just pay the fine...good to see someone fighting it for once...

Just show up and tell your story they will probably not prosecute unless they really have you by the ba*ls. If and when it ever comes to trial you will be afforded the opportunity to obtain all that info prior to the start of the proceedings. Get a good lawyer if that is the outcome and realize that the attorney will cost you plenty they are blood suckers.

you don't need it 1 and three you will not get . the only one that matters is #2 and the cop will give it to the prosecuter when he arrives at court. if it was calibrated as scheduled you will lose. if not you will win....game over...going to court will probably cost you a coupla hundred bucks extra plus the ticket plus the cops will put you on an official list of whiny, pissy little girls. but you go ahead and press the issue. this is what determines if you get pulled over for driving while stupid: was the cop on duty or off duty when his appearance for court was requested for a traffic ticket?

this is not a offender can charge. this is a site visitors violation. maximum jurisdictions require a courtroom visual allure for the extra severe site visitors violations which includes rushing 30mph over the shrink, rushing in a school zone, etc. do not attempt to beat the value ticket. attempt to plea all the way down to a lesser offense which includes 20mph over the shrink. that doesn't sound like lots whether it is going to help.

sounds like you're looking for an attorney. An attorney (if you go to trial) can secure that information with a subpoena. Otherwise I would think that you have no chance of getting it on your own.
