i have a sony laptop and the hard drive gets heated up to about 50 - 60 degrees celcius, i would like to know if it is normal

Ideally it shouldn't be as high as 60 degrees Celsius. Maybe the air is not circulating properly in your laptop. Try verifying if there is a lot of dust in there, and if all the fans are spinning properly.

the hard drove is best at around 40deggress because the heat reduces the life of the laptop however it doesnt matter in the short term in the long term it may however your laptop will probably be older.
