Houston is not considered Southern Texas. San Antonio to the Rio Grande River is considered Southern Texas.

Southern Texas as in the Brownsville area? I live in El Paso and have never heard of extreme bad weather there, but if you want to check on your own go to the Weather Channel (either on TV or on-line) and type in Brownsville everyday and see what you see.

You need to narrow your area down a little. Texas is a very large state and each area has different weather.
