I am not looking for advice. I am curious to know what other people experiences and if there is a specific pattern i want to compare it to what I have read about it, I am still not sure if these terrors are internally or externally generated.

I'm not sure that I every had the night terrors. What I call sleep paralysis is when I wake up from a dream and am looking about the room but I can't move. I will have my eyes open and am conscious about everything around me, but my body will not budge. Its as if I was paralyzed. I have learned not to panic. I just keep trying to move my arms until the rest of my body wakes up - - it takes only a minute or two.

It can get a little more complicated as I might wake up from a dream and still hear and see things that aren't there. I will be dreaming and wake up like a sleep paralysis where I can't move, but parts of my dreams continue. I will hear people talking or see a continuation of a dream, but my eyes will be open and I will also be aware of my surroundings even as parts of the dream are still running. Then as I recover from my paralysis I will be confused about what I heard or saw, suddenly the persons in my dream won't be there.. I then have to ask a few questions before I realize what just happened.

these are just like the strange obsession people have with listening and hearing their own voice... No one understands it so they continuously ask this question to see how others feel about it...

I have that happen every time I fall asleep on my back. Your body goes dormant and your mind begins to feel as though it is caught in a dead frame and you can't wake it up again to get it back.

I believe it is what some people call an OBE (out of body experience) It is terrifying if you are not expecting it and don't know what to do about it.

learn to breathe and not to fight against it. It seems the more you struggle, the worse it gets. I breathe through it and come out of it just a little frazzled but a little less each time it happens.

Some people go to learn how to control their mind so much so that they can (or believe they can) astral travel. I really think that it is mostly just the product of a natural occurrence and a vivid imagination... Like something to do until your brain reconnects back to your central nervous system.

It is kind of like when you hang up your phone after talking on it and can't get the dial tone back again to call out until you return the handset back to the charger...

As far as night terrors go... If you understand that they are just dreams... The terror just becomes more the product of the spicy food you ate right before going to bed... eventually, you learn not to eat spicy foods right before bed and you go right back to sleep...

generally I have these if I have eaten too late; paralysis is a way for your body to protect you from harming yourself ; I have had them several times in a lifetime; they are scary but the good thing is that you wake up ; for others in my home; they have heard me scream and come running so probably more disruptive for them ; generally your mind is in full activity that is how mine are usually life threatening dreams could stem from one occurrence in my past but eating at the wrong time triggers it ; not frequent but have had several of them

A dream that is more real than any other. An evil presence on my back holding me down with much pressure. The more I resist the stronger it holds me down. Too many more details to list.
I do not wish this exp. on anybody.
