Yeah, they really need to get away from terrorist leaders like Arafat who glorified death, murder, and terrorism. Those kinds of people don't really exact sympathy from others

Good thinking, touchy subject. They indeed need and deserve better leadership but maybe the same can be said form the Israeli's.
Furthermore I think you underestimate the existence of people like Malcolm X and the black panters to create the conditions for Dr. Martin Luther King to be successful.
Just my opinion but I think there isn't enough courageous leadership on both sides in that conflict and I don't know,am not sure if non violence is the thing that's missing.I often think of the ordinary non political citizen,Palestinian or Israeli, they get so much stress and sadness. They need leaders who choose for peace yes but peace can't be if it's not just
Nelson Mandela believed in using violent methods to bring change.
Again this is a difficult subject, just my thoughts.I could be wrong but the political leaders should think more about the ordinary people who just wanna live their life, get a job family life without being blown up whether it is by a crazy suicide bomber or an Israeli war plane because your neighbor happens to be someone working for Hezbollah

It worked well in India, it worked well against the Roman Empire in the 1st Century.
One major flaw I see in the middle east is that the Jews and the Muslims both believe that judging others and seeking revenge is the job of people. You've heard "an eye for an eye". If you wrong me, then I'll wrong you right back and then some. This creates an endless cycle of violence that has gone on for thousands of years.
There will never be peace among nations until there is forgiveness and reconciliation. Unfortunately, the faiths proclaimed by both sides are not based on forgiveness. Non-violent resistance is not compatible with what the Jews or Pallestinians believe.
But, it would work. Give peace a chance...

The MLK peaceful demonstrations of the 60s only worked because of the news images they produced (children being fire-hosed, young people being beat for siting at a lunch counter etc). It was a partnership of sorts between peace activists and journalists. However, because the psychotic Zionists now own 90% of the print and TV news media in America, we are not likely to see such images from Palestine. Every bit of information that comes from that region comes from the Israeli propaganda machine. And our Zionist controlled American media accepts Israel's propaganda without question
If Americans never see the images of the IDF killing children and Knocking down houses and harassing these people 24 hours a day, but instead are only shown Palestinians' reactions to these immoral acts, we will continue to bank role Israel's terrorism.
Plus, Israelis like to kill anti-Zionist peace activists and journalists.

I agree violence has not worked, however there was a 10 year period of peace after the oslo peace accords in which more land was stolen and rights taken from them. So peace doesn't seem to work for them either. What they need is for the US to be an honest peace broker and for both Israel and the palestinian leadership to realize their is no choice but to make a peacefull comprimise. One that neither side will like.

Most of the answers ignore the fact that Israel is occupying land that was never part of Israel. what is needed in the holy land is a man like Mandela to end all IZM and to united the people of the holy land to live in peace to gather. The question here is will Mandela be from the Jewish side or the Arab side its a matter of time believe me. Some say he will be a Christian Arab but at end who cares we need to see peaceful holy land where God people live in peace to gather one day.

Yes, we need someone like Luther King to stop the Israeli Racism and Apartheid against us (Palestinians). But unfortunately, King cannot stop the Israeli daily killing and demolishing of houses of Palestinians. Simply, Israel will crush him under a bulldozer.... the same they did to Mary Corrie - the American peace activist-.

Martin Luther King was a great, great man.
Whatever grievances the Palestinians have, violence is not the answer. They don't have the money or the power for a regular military, and terrorism is never justifiable.
My opinion is that they don't have much of a grievance against Israel.
But the Palestinians have plenty of legit grievances against their own corrupt leaders who don't care about them, and plenty of legit grievances against the various terrible Arab dictatorships that don't care about them, and against the corrupt UN that doesn't care about them.
The Palestinian society has been thoroughly warped, so they think suicide is good, that purposely murdering innocent bystanders is good. The poison comes from schooling day after day, the poison comes from mosques week after week, the poison comes from their political leaders day after day. It's gonna take DECADES to cure all that poison.

The Palestinians have been thrown out of every nation in the world. They are professional victims. They have been given land, they have been given money to build an infrastructure. What do they do with it? They turn to violence and try to kill Jews. I do not think they could find a peaceful leader within the Palestinain territoriesa. They even elected the terrorists to lead their government.

I would also say more like Ghandi---
I think they'd get alot more support from the world community if they were more viewed as the oppressed (which they are in many respects) vs. Israel which is viewed as the oppressed-- when in many cases, they are the oppressor.
Also, taking the high-road would help them better than taking the violent low-road. The attention they do get is very negative and frankly, if somebody is constantly wanting to kill you, are you going to be willing to negotiate?
