Everyone makes mistakes.
If you have regrets you can learn from them.
If you repent you change yourself because of them.

Example:
Bush has made many mistakes, but regrets nothing, therefore he has learned nothing, refuses to change, and remains deeply stupid.

The Difference between a MISTAKE and a REGRET are

1. A mistake is an action word that is about to do but you don't have to control to stop it because,you don't have the power for it .It can delay but still it will occur in your path.

2. A mistake is the result of the Fault thing or an error you did in an instance.

3. A mistake is what happened on the wrong doing you did towards a person,thing,event or in a situation.

A REGRET
1. Is the connsequence of the mistake whether it will affect your life after the Mistake.
2. It is also the Result of your GUILT feeling inside our heart.Specially if the HARM is great.
3. It is the repecussion will reflect on our Daily Life because,of our concious and sub-concious mind deals the Reasoning between this two.

Anyway,MISTAKE AND REGRET are two different words with different meaning yet they are Inter-related.
MISTAKE is the ACTION while REGRET is the result of the MISTAKE that I,You and Us did.

MISTAKE = ERROR/FAULT
REGRET = REMORSE or LIKE AN OPPORTUNITY THAT YOU JUST PASS BY.

A mistake is something that you did that you didn't mean to do. The difference between this and regret is that following the incident only one gives you a sick feeling when you think about it. I can think of many past mistakes that I don't necessarily regret (many fo those mistakes provided valuable insight). But some of those mistakes still haunt me (they are the regrets).

Just because you make a mistake, doesn't make it something you should regret. Science has proven this time and time again. Most developments are found accidentally, in a search for something completely unrelated.
A regret is something you did or had done to you that you wish hadn't happened or you could forget. A mistake is just something you didn't mean to do.

A mistake would be classified as "a behaviour" while regret is more of a "feeling/ emotion" that may/ may not follow a mistake depending on one's attitude toward his/ her mistake.

Every regret results from what one percieves as a mistake, be it intentional or unintentional in the first place.
However, not every mistake is a regret. A corrected mistake is not a regret. A mistake that ones percieves as a learning opportunity or a stepping stone won't be classified as a regret as well.

I think I might like working where you work. All I hear at my job is sports and celebrity related discussion. The difference is this. Most mistakes are also regrets but most regrets are not always mistakes.

i think a regret is a more intense form of a mistake...when a person makes a mistake...its usually an error that a person makes unknowingly but the consequences of the mistake are not intense in the individual's viewpoint...while a regret may begin as a mistake, the intense consequences of the mistake usually is what makes a person feel that they should have never done that action in the first place

We all make mistakes but all of us do not necessarily regret our mistakes. Regret is the realization that we have made a mistake and in so doing have injured others and ourselves. What is the big controversy?

A regret is when you do something that seems like a good idea at the time or something you do that has an unwanted reaction. A mistake is when you screw up but everything is still okay.

a very simple question with a very controversial answer- a mistake is kinda like this-"hey, why did you kill him?he's not the guy, u killed the wrong guy, men! you should have consulted me first, now what!- a mistake is you've done something wrong and you promise yourself that it's not gonna happen again-u learn a lesson from it.- regret- a regret is something like this- oh,my! i should have won those are my numbers! i forgot to place my bet,why oh why! anyway, tomorrow i'll try again.a missed opportunity- conclusion- mistake, you're not gonna do it again- regret,you're gonna do it the next time

Mistake = action
regret = a negative feeling about that action

(a mistake is not always unintentional. I intentionally moved that chair but I regret that the person didn't realize it and fell down)
