The nature of being goth is being weird.
So Marylin Manson is both.

Marylin Manson is a singer, the only whos freeky looking, distinct colored eyes loads of gold tooth and makeup. i'd not favor to encounter him down a depressing alley. His song solid although, nicely maximum of it.

Most emphatically not goth, and I believe the majority of older goths will back me up on this. He's shock-rock, whereas postpunk and goth are introspective and emotional.

I think he just acts goth as a means to sell records.

Neither, his look is calculated. Like Alice Cooper before him, he uses an over the top personality, meant to shock, and thus attracts disaffected youth to his fan-base. He seems like a smart businessman, to be honest.

He's got his own style, which is reminiscent of goth but not quite so. He's weird a bit but all of them are weard in their own ways so I don't mind.

How about Gothically weird? Or, weirdly Gothic? I think he tries to be both but, I think the weirdness factor is more to his standards then the gothic factor.

i think he's just weird and that could be the reason why he's pretending to be goth...
