I have been reading her book, Peace Mom, (lent to me by a friend) and was considering buying a copy as a gift for our local library. Out of curiosity, I entered "Cindy Sheehan" into Yahoo Answer's search. People are,on the whole, not very kind to this woman whom I greatly admire. References kept popping up concering her deserting her son, Casey, when he was a baby or small child. Did she? Where does their information come from? If it is untrue, why are people saying that she deserted her son?

The answer to your first question is No. I personally don't like Cindy Sheehan and I think she is an opportunist who wanted her day in public. However, some of the stories going around about this woman are untrue. Check out the article in Snopes about her. But be sure you read ALL of it.

Casey was raised by his father and his step-mother. When he died in Iraq Cindy decided to be the grieving Mom. She has had her 15 minutes and needs to go away now. She is not much of a Mother. Her younger son by her second husband has decided to have nothing to do with her and her husband divorced her because of her crazy activities. They both have said that Casey was proud to serve. Are you aware that Casey had re-enlisted after Iraq started and that he was proud of his service there. It is too bad that Cindy does not respect her dead son enough to support his views.

So this man joins the military. His time is up, but he re-inlists against Cindies wishes. He does die and now his mother claims that he didn't want to go to Iraq.

If my mother ever twisted my choice and used my death for her political campaign, I would make a pact with the devil to come out of the grave and knock some sense into her.

This women is suffering from psychological displacement. She doesn't want to blame her sons decision to reinlist, so she blames Bush.

Cindy is USING her son's name to promote her AMERICA is evil campaign. She believes the US Government is evil empire. Just another windbag from the far left paid for by moveon.org.

Her own family wants nothing to do with her and I can understand her husband divorcing her. Shame on her.

could be wrong, but, from what I read, she did leave her young son for her first husband and his wife to raise; her son enlisted and died in Iraq, and his dad and stepmom supported him, but, shortly after Cindy started her personal cause for her son, her second husband divorced her-probably for political demands/strains

Haven't heard. I don't like this woman. There are other Moms out there who are behaving much better than she.
