My friend lives in Calgary, I live in New York. We are both poor students and want a cheap but fun place to meet up thats about half way and not too hard for both of us to get to by plane train or bus.

It's not half way, but there are often good, cheap flight deals from both Calgary and NY to Las Vegas.

If you both are going to travel by bus, then I'd suggest Minneapolis, as it's the closest major city to the half-way point. It's best known attraction is the Mall of America.

why not choose Calgary or New York. One or the other go see the other person. If the need be you can help eachother out with the airfare instead of you both travelling and having to get a hotel. It is cheaper for one to fly instead of you both flying.

i've got travelled from London Gatwick to Calgary and it took 9 a million/2 hours. The flight direction took us directly north over Manchester and Glasgow. on condition that Manchester is approximately 50 minutes north of Gatwick, you would be gazing 8 a million/2 to 9 hours, gazing the wind speed.

Toronto of course, lots to see and do, lots of student areas, bars, etc. Easy transportation, great shopping, dining. No place easier for you both to get to.

Chicago, although I agree that it'd be cheaper for one to visit the other. Traveler pays for airfare, hostess pays for food and going out.
