No because I am very comfortable with who I am. I do understand how young women are influenced by them.It is such a shame as our beauty is in our variety. We should let our bodies evolve as our genes are programmed to be.

Yes of course it does, it's not through wanting to look like the people the media portrays it's the the fact that it praises women for being so small it's unhealthy and the ridicule and shunning of someone because they put a few pounds on and have become a size 12.
It leads people to think it's wrong to be over a certain size, making them believe that the slightest weight gain is an abonation, the media leaves people feeling second rate all over the fact that celebraties and models choose to look amaciated and these stupid gossip mags praise them for it then shun them for looking a healthy weight.
Be happy with who you are is what i say

The media definitly effects body image. Thats why its so bad in our country, too much air brushing makes young girls strive to be perfect. I personally like the way I am. I used to always try to diet to be come super skinny but then I had 2 kids and my husband is happy with me which made me lose my bad body image. It takes a level of understanding and maturity to finally overcome what society has placed on us.

Oh yeah the media plays a big role in young teenage girls who is not perfect and would like to be . But see what they don't understand is why do you want to like fake , a natural women has her pluses and minus. What would you like to starve your self to be a size 2 when your body is made to be a size 7 or 8 ? Do you want to put your body threw surgery to have big boobs , nice butt , a smaller nose , higher cheek bones , when you wasn't meant for that ? But if a smart girl knows anything she knows that a man loves a curvy thick women who is all natural and real rather than fake .

No the media don't effect me. I am fairly happy with the way I am provided I don't put on too much weight. Then it is because I feel fat and my clothes don't fit and I cannot really afford to buy a new wardrobe of clothes

I feel the constant bombardment of information about body type via tv and magazines hugely plays a factor in what people think about themselves as well as other people.
I don't feel that when i see just one example, but over time attitudes change.
Media is a powerful influence, especially on the young and impressionable.

The media over exaggerates what is in. You need to find
a weight that is comfortable for you. You need to know
you are the best that you can be and live with that.
Stay Healthy.

the opposite actually, if i see a skinny celeb they make a big fuss about it and say that its unnatural and/or unhealthy. this makes me feel awful as i am naturally small, so when i see pics of skinny celebs i feel like im too skinny so i go and eat more junk.
