T1 and T3 are grades for networking services with high bandwidth.

Usually T denotes a more direct highspeed network that is linked almost directly to the backbone of the internet.

If your talking about a T1 in computers . A T1 is a Broadband line.

It will run at about 1.5m , upload and download speed . Its similar to DSL or Cable internet but its faster because the upload a speed it a lot better than standard DSL.

T3 is a faster version of T1.

T1 and T3 refer to digital data carrier lines. T1 has a 1.544 Mbps transmission rate, while the T3 transmits 44.736 Mbps.

Er.. it's in "Computer Networking" so it can't possibly be house grades LOL.. a T1 is a low-latency ("high speed") full-digital Internet connection. It's capable of 1.5Mbps.. which doesn't seem fast until you consider that it's completely digital, which means it doesn't suffer from the line noise and repeated retransmissions that plague DSL. A T3 is the same except it's capable of 43Mbps.
