"Do think Mississippi Is The Slowest State in America?" Do think? Do you think? Do I think? I don't believe you think. Your question is ignorant in the way it's phrased and the contents of it. I'm from Mississippi.
There are parts of Mississippi (northern in the delta) that have a lack of education as well as the resources needed to obtain an education. I'm from the southern part of Mississippi...and we are most definitely educated...know how I am sure of this? Check out the news from Katrina and see how well we did vs. Louisiana...there's your answer. No.

First off, I recommend that you check your question before submitting it--maybe you're just a little slow.
I am from Mississippi, but have lived in several states (including Hawaii) and abroad. I have enjoyed my time away, but I do plan on retiring back to MS in a few decades because of the friendly atmosphere. In addition to having experience with different cultures, I have an undergraduate degree, a master's degree, and a PhD. So if the mental/social race is between you and Mississippians like me--we win!!

It all depends on what part of Mississippi you go to. There are certain areas that are pretty nice and people are not so slow, then if you go to the "delta" area, this is an area stricken with higher levels of poverty.
Overall the state is progressing...I would give the slowest state honors to Louisiana.

Never been there myself. However from what I have read and seen on TV I am wondering if the stories of the South are true, and frankly because of the way I was raised, I am afraid to even travel that way. But then again I have herd things about our state too, like if you wanted to kill someone come to our state where the body will never be found. Which I can not say is totally wrong (and I am sure comes from one of the movies filmed here)....but my state is known for the open mindedness and our outspoken ways.
So if you are talking slowest state as in mind state then rumor has it that all southern states are rather slow (I am ignorant of this fact though). If we are talking slow as in speed of a car, ours has got to be the slowest state for speed on our highways. Back roads we still have open range/ free roaming so if one is speeding they might just run into cattle or sheep which that person will have to pay for running into. Heavens forbid someone runs into a bear or a elk/deer the damage to ones car is outrageous. Or takes a mobile home on the back roads which are not big enough for them.

How could we hope to become the slowest state in America without having you as a resident? I don't think you should be questioning the mental aptitude of an entire state judging by grammar used in your post.

No, i would think the bigger states, like Texas or California are slower because they have more mass. The fastest state is probably Rhode Island because it is so small and probably has the most speed.

Yeah, we people from Mississippi are pretty dumb. We're all backwards here. That's why we produce people like Robin Roberts, Oprah, and John Grisham, just to name a few. They haven't made it anywhere in life, have they?
We're so slow that us Pass Christian kids can kick your butt in academics and sports quicker than you can spell Mississippi.
