We don't know. We are still in our intellectual and evolutionary infancy. Most would say our greatest mystery is where we came from. This may be true from our perspective of limited perceptive ability, but in the future I bet this so called mystery will be seen by future humans as about as mysterious as what color the sky is. The greatest mystery has yet to be discovered.

The greatest mystery is whether or not there is a purpose to existence, but the answer to this mystery is utterly meaningless, and will not change a thing.

Life is the greatest mystery. None of us know what is going to happen tomorrow, next week, year, etc.

when my grandmother was laying there at the nursing home suddenly her eyes got bright. she smiled. raised her hands up. cried out Jesus and passed on.to me what awaits us all after we die is the most mysterious of all things.
The human mind is also very mysterious. I have been very psychic most all my life and its fascinating the things I have known.in a psychic sense. My mother was the same way.
the things people can do with there minds is absolutely amazing.
UFOS also appear very mysterious.
I am researching life energy. or sometimes Its called orgone energy. this is interesting to me.

Greatest mystery...when my husband is in the same room as me watching sports on television and doesn't hear a word I say.
But...he can be in a completely different room when I open a can of Diet Pepsi and say, "Hey can you get me a drink too."
Selective hearing...frustrates the crap out of me.

Probably outer space...that is, how far it goes, how did all matter and energy come to be etc...This is the "macro" answer, but on a "micro" level, maybe where magnetism comes from. We need a more concise answer other than magnetism comes from opposing electron spins in atoms/molecules.

The Mona Lisa, or what is in that container in the back of every ones refrigerator. You know that stuff with mold that looks like it could start moving at any moment.
