you disagreed with my opinion ?

Even if I wasn't your 'ideal' impression or 'expectation' of a political opponent ?

First answer the question at hand, but then, if you wish, look at the FORUM . There's a post titled 'Have You Ever Seen Anything Worse'. . . it's very near the top or beginning right now, as I have just finished responding to some of the posts in it . I would WELCOME HONEST OPINIONS on that post.. . .. . .Remember that person(me) may someday be YOU !!! Thank you .

I would always support your right to give your opinions. Just as I would expect you to support my right to disagree with you. It is in looking at all different opinions, that we first form our own. So, even if your opinion can be diametrically opposed to mine, it is still valuable, in that it gives me insight into the thought patterns of a person that is opposite to me philosophically.

As long as the 'speech' wasn't to encourage people to break laws or to join in harming others. This is the USA and freedom of speech is one of our 'rights'. Another 'right' we have as Americans is the 'right' to the 'persuit of happiness as long as it doesn't infringe upon someone elses 'rights'.

Now I have looked at the responses in the forum. I agree Y!A is failing in their handling abuse reports. But, this is Yahoo!'s sandbox and we must play by 'their' rules. I believe they should do away with the little 'abuse' button that is so easy to push. They should make reporting abuse a little more involved than that. Too many people abuse that button, it's too easy. That being said, I have had to come back on here under a different ID several times due to suspensions. It's easier than fighting them and I won't let them silence me. I even came back later under the same name, although I had to start out as a newbie with no points at level 1. I'm not on here for the points or awards, I'm on here to learn stuff and keep informed.

You have to follow the guidelines, but sometimes people report you when you haven't violated any of them. It is 'their' opinion, I suppose. Yahoo!Answers is operated, in a large part, by automation. If it's reported it is automatically put 'on the record'. I have asked a question before and had it deleted for violation, went back in under a different ID, asked the same question and it wasn't deleted. I think some people have you targeted and will report a Q or A no matter what it's content. Then when it is asked by 'another' participant, it is not even noticed by 'that' person. Get more than one ID. If one is suspended you have another one. They say you're not suppose to do that, but people DO. Don't worry about it.

To put it in a nutshell,I support anyone's right to say anything as long as I have the right to say what I think about it even if that can be interpreted as insulting to you or the person expressing its opinion.
And that's where answers is limited. If someone for example says something really racist and hateful I can support his right to free speech in the normal world where I have the right to say that he is a jackass and a loser but here I don't have that right so I can not support his right to free speech on that.I'm bounded by community guidelines in my response and in my free speech so is everyone else.

I would support what you have to say, even if I diagreed to the death.

I had both my gov and soci teacher give us lessons were we had to check off what we would and wouldn't allow. I actually voted yes to letting the KKK march a few hours from my house (depending on traffic of course). that was a nasty choice to make

I do however think that parts of the freedom of pseech are inseperatable. legally there can be no slander, libel, speech meant to insight violence, and some places have obsenity laws.
on this board I don't report people for saying things I don't like. I have reported people for using slurs because under yahoo code you can't have that type of language

Free speech is a right guaranteed by the constitution as a basis of our Republic. I might disagree with you, but it is a right you do have and a right I have.

No one has the right to abridge either of our rights. I support this country and believe in a lot of the founding idea (not slavery, of course). So therefore, I support that right.

I even support the KKK's freedom of speech, but I would certainly be there to protest (exercise MY freedom of speech) if the KKK ever wanted to do a march any where driving distance from my house. Same for that scum protesting military funerals. There was talk they were going to protest a funeral about 6 hours south of here & I would have drivien there to counter protest if they had gone!

I frequently disagree with the speech of many individuals. I voice my disagreement by using my freedom of speech. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from offense, which many people seem to think it should mean. I support your right to piss me off, and I will respond in kind if I feel like it.

I respect differing opinions and encourage them even. If we all give an honest look at "the other side's" points and opinions, we will often find value we would have missed otherwise. Most personal attacks are uncalled for though.

As long as you are not advocating physical harm to individuals, or the violent overthrow of a government, I support your right to disagree with me. And yes, I do understand where that puts me on the Iraq issue.

As long as your opinion was civialized and not the rantings of a lunatic. If if was honest, true and you could prove what you said within a reasonable amount of time, prior to and election, etc.
