I can't believe someone else has found this out!! I used to smile at people and they would smile back, now I get looks like "what the f do you want?" I thought it was just me! I think life goes too fast for people, and the news is all bad, people are isolated, it is not a really happy world anymore. Now I am depressed. Let's you and me keep smiling, because sometimes someone smiles back genuinely and you have connected momentarily with another human being, and isn't it wonderful. you both have a better day for it.

No, and be careful of what you "see" in your world. You are happy and there are plenty of happy or content people in the world. Keep in mind that not many people walk around with a smile plastered on their faces when they're not in the act of laughing or thinking about something specific.
I think about things that have made me laugh when I walk down the street and sometimes I am removed from my thoughts by someone staring in a not too friendly manner.
It's easy to set oneself apart as if you and only you have the magic elixir to happiness and because you don't see a smile on others, well, then you must be the ONLY person who is happy.
Not so.
Be careful in your judgement of others or you will run the risk of attracting the very people you say you don't want in your life.
What we give out, we receive and what we dwell upon, we create in our lives.
Try not to isolate yourself because we as humans are complex creatures and it is a physical impossibility to be happy every moment of the day. Remember that we can be sad, anxious, exhilarated, angry...etc. and still be those same people who are also happy or content with their lot.

Unfortunately, we have created a society that punishes any outward sign of humanity towards one another. It started with making any physical contact with a person such as a hug or an arm around the shoulders a sign of some deviant sexual behavior. Sadly even smiling at the wrong person will potentially cause a complaint of sexual harrassment. Last time I checked smiling did not automatically mean flirting......
Sad really. Misery will beget misery and people truly are becoming more solitary and miserable as time passes

Have you ever stop to smile at them, in case they are sad. Maybe they are put in your path so that you can help them along
a bit. Smiles are contagious, if you are smiling, you will cause the domino affect. You are so happy, you should not even notice others as miserable but instead you should help them to smile and feel better if only for the time you are around. Now you have a responsibility...

The people that have forgotten to smile are the one who have forgotten who they are, brainwashed by the medias which set a fashion that controls the masses financially and emotionally.
They seek outside to fill the inner void, when they'd just need to smile from within out, and remember that if we don't go within, we go without...
Fortunately as we entered the Era of Aquarian, people start to realise that the more they've focused on the material and the more they've felt empty inside; they are now reclaiming their spiritual side, and for the first time in history we can embrace both our material and spiritual sides, and rediscover that we are all One In Love...
There is Always a Reason to SMILE, we are ALIVE!
We human being are so FUNNY, though we can take ourselves too seriously but that makes it even funnier! We've forgotten Life's a playground!
WE ARE THE CREATORS OF OUR LIFE MOVIE.
THE MORE I SMILE, THE MORE I SEE HAPPY PEOPLE.
THE MOST PRECIOUS RICHES ARE THE SMILES I AM ABLE TO LIGHT ON PEOPLE'S FACES AND THE ONES I RECEIVE.
I'd like to say to Moi_1_2_3 that her poem about Smiling made me Raise In Love with her :-)))
I'd like to remind Londoners how special was the past year 2006, lots of changes in our lives (even the dramatic ones will turn out for the best), so much sunshine and azure skies all year long, the most amazing spring with blooming blossoming trees that called our attention to Wisdom and Natural Beauty (they more than made me smile, they made me Laugh of Joy everyday!), and the birds, did you hear all the birds singing Love louder to my ears than the newspapers feeding your eyes birdflu panic...don't you know that fear is the way to control the people? Because it keeps them in the Great Illusion that we're separate!
Don't wait to be happy to smile, Smile your way to Happiness!
And please do yourself and the world another favour, go to www.thesecret.tv, read the testimonials and buy yourself the DVD! (I have nothing to do with the company, I just wish all my fellow soulbrothers to awaken to their true desires by remembering the Universal Law of Attraction).
Thank You for Really Loving who You Really Are :-)))
Namaste xxxxxxxx
PS: have you seen the movie "What the Bleep do we know?" amazing scientific discoveries with Quantum Physics, so great to understand more how we-body-mind-spirit work!

It's hard to smile when you are always worried about something. I think that's why a lot of people don't smile any more. Me? I'm always smiling! I'm generally a happy/glass is half full kind of person. Even when I'm upset I try to smile and I find myself feeling better soon.
"Smile, it makes people wonder what you've been up to." I don't know who said it but I like it!

I smile when I am happy.....just hasn't been much recently in my life to smile about.
Soon though things will change and life will be good again. I think alot of people are working to hard. Overextended on the credit cards and the car loan and the mortgage......they work so much they can't enjoy the things they spent all their money on.
Thats my little take on the world...Keep on smiling!

but but but
Smiling is infectious
You catch it like the flu
When someone smiled at me today
I started smiling too
I walked around the corner
And someone saw me grin
When he smiled I realised
I had passed it on to him
I thought about the smile
And then realised its worth
A single smile like mine
Could travel round the earth
So if you feel a smile begin
Don't leave it undetected
Start an epidemic
And get the world infected.
I love to smile - it makes me feel better - and even better when people smiles back!!
but i agree with you - so many less people do smile nowadays and its really sad!
Think about it people - smile - it's so easy and you could seriously change someone's life!!
to answer your question - i think there are a few of us smiley people still left out there!!!
